Hola, necesito un equivalente para esta frase, generalmente esta expresión idiomática, significa estar de buena racha o tener suerte, pero en este caso encontré este significado en inglés que sería el más acorde a mi contexto:
on a roll: talking for a period of time. My mother loved to gossip, and she had a hard time stopping once she was on a roll.

So, when a lot of bad things happen to someone consecutively, it can be said that; Esta pasando por una mala racha...?
I believe that to have bad luck is also: tener mala suerte
