Italian term
sondaggio a rotazione e carotaggio continuo
Italian to English
Science
Geology
surveying
This is from a survey report.
" .. è stato eseguito un sondaggio a rotazione e carotaggio continuo in corrispondenza del metro 51 (asse x) ..
A very similar question is already in the glossary, but without the "a rotazione" and wirh "e carotaggio"
I'm wondering if thisd is the same thing or of there is a slight difference. The "e carotaggio" part makes me think it might be 2 processes.
Suggestions?

continuous core boring
The "a rotazione" part is just to distinguish it from ways of obtaining samples which don't involve drilling, with a bucket or something.

Comment: "Seems good enough without the extra words. Many thanks."
14 mins
drilling with a hollow stemmed continuous flight auger
I think it is referring to augered drilling. See the links.
6 mins
rotary drilling and continuous sampling
or 'with continuous sampling' may be better

I think it's saying that rotary drilling was carried out and there was continuous sampling at 51m i.e. not during the whole drilling process.

Ah ok, then my original answer stands.

Hi, actually 51m is the chainage, not the depth. |
