Здравствуйте. Термин встречается в описании энергетической установки морозильного траулера в следующем контексте (см. п. 3):

The propulsion system shall be capable of running in following modes:
1. Normal mode, with both engines driving propellers and shaft generators,
with shaft generators running parallel capable of making totally 2000 kW
of electrical power.
2. One propulsion system in diesel electric mode and the other system in
normal mode. In this case one main engine is stop and clutched out from
the gearbox and the shaft generator acting as motor and driving the
propeller. The other engine running driving propeller and shaft
generator, producing el power for the ship systems and the other
propulsion system.
3. Boost mode, same as 1 or 2, with 500 kW boost from aux. engines to
each shaft generator, giving total power to propellers 2500 kW.
