Zdaje się, że symbol cali został przestawiony - chyba powinno być tak:

Chodzi o to, że ten wąż jest "wstępnie" podłączony do wozu bojowego / samochodu pożarniczego.

Oczywiście w tłumaczeniu można opuścić "o średnicy" - wystarczy tak: wąż/linia szybkiego natarcia 1½'' LUB wąż/linia 1½'' (do) szybkiego natarcia

Ciekawa sprawa, we wcześniejszej wersji pierwszego tekstu był przedział "3/4–1 1/2 inches" (a nie "3/4–1 inches").
