French term

cabine transformatrice MT/BT mobile

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng transformers
This comes from a Swiss company.

Not being an electrical expert I'm not sure how best to word this.

I have thought of "Mobile MV/BV Transformer Cubicle" (based on past Glossary entries) but this achieves nil Google hits.

I have found something that seems to correspond using the term "substation" but substations for me are much larger, fixed facilities.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thank you.

Discussion

Marco Solinas Feb 10, 2013:
Stations and substations IEC (as authoritative a reference as any) contains entries for "transformer substation", but not for "transformer station." Here is its definition for substation: "a substation containing power transformers interconnecting two or more networks of different voltages;" no distinctions between HV/MV and MV/LV. I'm sorry TIL I don't know how to change my language pair. Could you please advise? Many thanks, Steve
Steve Melling (asker) Feb 10, 2013:
Sorry about that, TIL.

mobile MV/LV transformer station

It is a station - not a substation
Peer comment(s):

agree Tony M : Yes, this sort of transformer is often pole-mounted, so need not be nearly so big as an HV substation

mobile MV/LV transformer substation

This should do it

neutral meirs : You got it wrong - a substation is from HV to MV - and the ORMAZABLE products is just the MV switchgear for the substation (no transformer or HV part)
