Rails

Flange rails type 49E1 shall be used in accordance with the requirements of EN 13674-1 dated Sep.2003. [S84].
Use of the EN standard is consistent with OR 1.13 [R11] dated Dec. 1995 that refers to the provisional release of a new European standard. Steel quality of 49E1 rails shall be R260 in accordance with the requirements of EN 13674-1. (Strength 880 MPa). [S84]

Points built with grooved girder rails shall be used. If abnormal radius is greater than or equal to 100m flange rails can be used. Crossover track is constructed with single track loops. By special assessment, track crossings are acceptable.

Heating shall ensure that the drive machinery's rods to the rails may be moved unhindered by snow and ice. Need for such heating is supplier-dependent, and shall be assessed for each system. Generally, the girder rail
points shall not need such heating but the flange rail points will.
