Portuguese term

PA

Portuguese to English Other Education / Pedagogy
Dear Colleagues:

I am translating a high school transcript from Rio de Janeiro. In the "observações" box the following abbreviation appears:

6° ano = PA

No other context is available.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Arithmetic Progression

I think this refers to Progressão Aritmética - a type of mathematical exercise/subject. Not really sure, though.

neutral Paul Dixon : Probably not. We are not looking at high school here (no sixth year in high school, at least not in Brazil), more likely to be middle school. Progressions are not usually taught at this level.
