Medical: Cardiology
posology - abbreviation
Hi all -
I am translating a medical report on a patient admitted via triage as an emergency case suffering from congestive heart failure.
There is a small section of the report where they talk about medication administered and I don't know what IOT is referring to.
This is the context:
Codigo: C01CE004701
Descripción: INSUFFICIENCIA CARDIACA CONGESTIVA
Cantidad: 5
Posología: 2AMP IOT SE REPITE EN SEGUNDA HASTA QUE HAY ACCESO VENOSO Y OCASION SE SOLICITA 1 AMP EN BOLO
Via Admin: Otras
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, sorry - I was supposed to write that in English! It's just too late in the day, so I'm tired. Anyway, in English it would be the same: orotracheal intubation, or OTI if you prefer the abbreviation. :)

Example sentence:

: I see online that OTI is sometimes used to administer drugs, but I don't think it would be used for adrenaline.//Interesting ... I didn't know that!

Yes, it may be used for adrenaline too. :) Google it or see this link: http://lnx.futuremedicos.com/IPQ/CD_IPQ/Ejemplos_cd/Intubaci...

Don't know if it fits in your context.
"Tibial intraosseous access is clearly the best. ... a safe and fast alternative to intravenous access in patients with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest."

Saludos!

This is what was administered:
Adrenalina 1MG/1ML AMPOLLA
and then what I posted was under the next heading Posología.
