I'm trying to find a good way to translate this 'THE BASS IS DROPPING' in the the following video: http://youtu.be/7lN7dpOdWcY?t=4m2s
I know it's difficult to translate this because it's sort of a joke but on the other hand I feel like there is a sort of good way to translate it.
I don't think it's need more context because that part of the video doesn't really rely on anything that has happened before in the series.
The target audience is kids/teens/young-adults
(It's because I submit the translation of their videos so they can add it to their YouTube video)

Hm inderdaad tricky! Vissen en muziek, heb toch een poging gewaagd tot alliteratie met de v...en geprobeerd het doelpubliek voor ogen te houden.

Omdat het een losstaande woordspeling is, de vissen niet op zeebaarzen lijken en de bassen helemaal niet wegvallen. Om daar nog een taalkundig correct laagje bovenop te doen lijkt me overdreven. Andere vertalingen: het regent vissen, ze smijten met vissen.

Ik trek mijn antwoord terug. Ik word op YouTube nu al dagen bestookt met dubstep en pratende eieren. Ik word te oud voor die troep - dat ik dat ooit nog zou zeggen - laat maar onvertaald.

Ik weet niet of deze vertaling zo goed past in dat stukje omdat de dialoog zo is: Ah! What's going on?! THE BASS IS DROPPING Misschien als de eerste zin op een andere manier vertaalt wordt dat het er wel in past. Bedankt voor iedereens commentaar tot nu toe trouwens! |

: Het regent vissen was ook mijn eerste idee. Een verwijzing maken naar de bas lijkt me te geforceerd. Ik vind de Engelse woordspeling trouwens ook niet geslaagd, want de woorden worden verschillend uitgesproken.
