Spanish term

depósito de G.O.

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Environment & Ecology seismic acquisition survey; safety and environmental risk audit
This is from a safety and environmental risk audit for a seismic acquisition survey. At the moment I have translated it as 'diesel storage tanks', but I don't really know if it's correct.

I would really appreciate some help.

Thank you very much.

Hi Helena Done!
Helena Chavarria (asker) May 21, 2014:
@Charles I finally chose 'diesel oil storage tanks'. I told my client that I wasn't completely sure if I had understood the term correctly but because I haven't heard anything from her, I take it to mean that it must have been ok. Could you please post your suggestion as an anwer so I can give you the points and close the question.
Helena Chavarria (asker) May 18, 2014:
@Henry I know who my client is and I know who their client is, although I have never met anyone who works for either company in person. I have no idea who the subcontracted auditors are. I'll send in the translation tomorrow and I'll tell them I'm not sure how to translate the term that's bothering me.

The term appears once in the text, the rest of the relatively long text hasn't caused me any trouble (except for the other question I have asked here today). However, I really appreciate your wish to help. Thank you.
Henry Hinds May 18, 2014:
CONTEXT If you don't know the origin, please say so, and it would be good for you as a translator to obtain that information from the client.
Helena Chavarria (asker) May 18, 2014:
I think I've provided as much context as possible. I'm translating a draft report of a safety and environmental risk audit for a seismic acquisition survey. The survey was (is being?) conducted in Alaska and I don't know where the auditors are from.
Henry Hinds May 18, 2014:
CONTEXT And an important part of CONTEXT is the origin of the text; I know that diesel fuel is called "gasoil" in Spain, but it has different names in other countries, and figuring out "G.O." is part of the question.
Helena Chavarria (asker) May 18, 2014:
@Charles Yes, that's what I thought. Gasoil = diesel oil. Thanks for your interest.
Charles Davis May 18, 2014:
gasoil ???

diesel fuel tank

As suggested, on the assumption that G.O. stands for gasoil. It can be called diesel fuel or diesel oil in English; I even find "gas oil" in the dictionary, though I can't say I've ever heard it called that. I think "tank" alone would do for "depósito", but "storage tank" would be fine too.
Note from asker:
I can't remember if I included 'storage' but I do remember seeing 'diesel oil/fuel storage tank' whilst I was researching the term. Because the original was G.O. and not 'combustible' I decided it would be better to keep to the original. Thank you very much!
