English term

realistic

English to Polish Social Sciences Psychology psychometrics
Dotyczy typu zainteresowań. Znalazłam określenie zainteresowania przedmiotowe w odniesieniu do poniższej definicji. Czy jest to powszechnie przyjęte określenie w polskiej terminologii stosowanej w doradztwie zawodowym czy stosowane są inne?
Realistic: People who have mechanical or physical abilities. They enjoy operating equipment or machinery, using tools, and working outside. They tend to follow tradition, have common sense, and take a practical approach to life.

Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (2): Yvonne Gallagher, Peter Simon

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

Kasia Bogucka (asker) Jun 10, 2014:
Very true Charles - I need to be more careful next time. Thanks.
Charles Davis Jun 10, 2014:
No problem! It can happen very easily, particularly if the last question you posted was EN>EN. The important thing is for your question to reach the people who can answer it. Good luck!
Kasia Bogucka (asker) Jun 10, 2014:
I am terribly sorry - I made a mistake selecting a wrong language pair. You are both right Peter and Charles - thank you.
Charles Davis Jun 10, 2014:
@Kasia As in the other question, I suspect that you have inadvertently posted this question as English-English but actually intended it to be English-Polish. Again, if so, either change the language pair or ask us to change it for you.

If you did intend the question to be English-English, I must confess I'm not sure what you want.
Peter Simon Jun 10, 2014:
@Kasia What is your question with so much Polish in the E-to-E category about a term which you already see explained in your example? The same question applies to your next Q.
