English term
Let it be
Jun 22, 2014 17:24: writeaway changed "Field (specific)" from "Music" to "General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters"
Non-PRO (2): GILLES MEUNIER, chantal Baranski
When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.
How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:
An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)
A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).
Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.
When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.
* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Aie confiance dans la vie
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be
Let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be ..."
ou Fais confiance à la vie
En réalité, it is almost a shame to translate this title..but I can't resist doing it either as it is one of my favorite song
«Mary» refers to McCartney's own mother, Mary Mohin, who died when he was 15 years old. This makes it a less religious connotation. |
Merci Daryo pour ce lien très éclairant. McCartney y explique en ses propres termes le sens qu'il donne à l'expression «Let it be» => «Be gentle, don’t fight things, just try and go with the flow and it will all work out. OK» |

: The mention of Mother Mary and the general tone/register is quite solemn and religious - a far cry from "Que sera sera"

: pas dans ce contexte. nothing in the article or in the song suggests this translation. it's very negative almost agressive and the song is the just the opposite

Dans le sens de "let things ride" ""let things alone", they'll find their own way.
