Es el manual de operación de una compactadora de asfalto.

Por contexto, imagino que "FSR leverl " es la palanca para mover la compactadora hacia adelante y hacia atrás (también regula la velocidad). Quizá FSR signifique "Front/Foward - Stop - Rear". De ser así, quizá podría ser "palanca de marcha", "palanca de propulsión" o "palanca de dirección". ¿Qué opinan?

Avoid side hill travel. Always operate up and down slopes. Never change to a lower gear on a slope; always change to a lower gear before reaching a slope. Always keep the *FSR lever* in low speed range close to the stop position when climbing or descending hills.

Using the English acronym Yes, I thought of that and decided to stick to the English acronym in case there is a label by/on the lever.

@ dcanossa I have not been able to find an acronym in Spanish. You may create one, something like APR. You could spell it out the first time around and add the acronym in parenthesis and then just use the acronym: avance/parade/retroceso (APR). or use the English acronym avance/parade/retroceso (FSR,por sus siglas en inglés ). Am sure you already thought of that :-)

Mi duda Si bien no usé los términos correctos (¡vaya mi cansancio!), FSR significa lo que supuse. Pero justamente me sigue quedando la duda de si en español no se usa algún término o, en todo caso, sigla para denominar dicha palanca, ya que escribir "avance/parada/retroceso" cada vez que se menciona a la misma es poco práctico. ¡Gracias nuevamente!

Palanca de avance/parada/retroceso

También se podría decir joystick de marcha adelante y atrás (obviamente que para invertir la marcha debe pasar primero por la parada o stop. Hoy en día se usan palancas tipo joystick en las máquinas viales.
