Norwegian term

bygningsteknisk / bygningsfysisk

Norwegian to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering
These two terms are quite tricky to render nicely in English. Any suggestions?

Contexts:
"Mindre skader som utvikler seg over tid, kan få store bygningstekniske- og økonomiske konsekvenser om man ikke avdekker og utbedrer årsaken tidsnok.

and

"Det er vel så viktig å ha kunnskap om nyere materialer, bygningsfysiske løsninger og dagens krav til energi og bygningskomfort kombinert med historikk, kulturhistorie og konservatortjenester."

Discussion

Norskpro Sep 4, 2014:
I think you should rewrite the sentences and work the following terms into the text: Bygningsteknikk is "construction technology," and bygningsfysikk is "building engineering physics", which is a broader subject than structural.

engineering/structural

you've probably considered these, but these would probably be my best suggestions
Note from asker:
Thank you. I'd considered "structural" for the latter, yes. Good to know I might be on the right wavelength at least.

construction technology/construction science

You can just about shoe-horn these two into direct translations of the context sentences, but as Norskpro says, it would be better to rewrite them using the concepts as nouns not adjectives.
Example sentence:

Minor damage can have significant consequences in both the construction technology and economic areas.
