Spanish term

Parto

Spanish to English Other Livestock / Animal Husbandry Pigs/Pork
With reference to (farm) pigs:

Primer parto:
Lechones vivos/parto:
ETC.

Should I use the term "farrowing" or simply "birth" or "delivery"?

Discussion

John Speese Nov 13, 2014:
I would suggest farrowing, since it is a text about pigs. The term farrowing is used by farmers and scientists alike and I think it is appropriate in any text about pigs, whether for scientists or laypersons.

I'd probably translate "primer parto" as "first litter".
It depends on your target audience; scientific papers may use "partum", most often found in compounds "pre/post partum".
Farrow/ing is another option.
