This is a verse by Abu al-'Alla' al-Ma'arri.
وَكورُكَ فَوقَ طَويلِ المَطا وَسَرجُكَ فَوقَ شَديدِ القَرا
"ومعناه مشهد رجل وضع الرحل على ظهر الفرس ووضع السرج على ظهر البعير. ومن كان هذا شأنه لا يكون طويلا شوطه، سواء أركب الفرس أم ركب البعير"
The saddle is what goes on the back of the horse. What is the name of what goes on the back of the camel?
I tried to find the whole verse in translation but without success. I wonder if anyone has al-Ma'arri's work in translation. I have 2 more verses to translate:
وَقَد يَفسُدُ الفِكرُ في حالَةٍ فَيوهِمُكَ الدُرَّ قَطرُ السُرى
سَقاكَ المُنى فَتَمَنَّيتُها وَصاغَ لَكَ الطَيفَ حَتّى اِنبَرى
