LA CARTERA GENEALÓGICA

español al inglés Mercadeo Mercadeo / Estudios de mercado
Hi everyone! I'm translating the words for an advertising campaign, of which a shortened version may be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ef9z0K3zM5k The term I'm looking for help on is "CARTERA GENEALÓGICA". Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks!

Discussion

Werner Maurer Jan 7, 2015:
How much you wanna bet that the term Cartera Genealógica was invented by either the writers of the script or by the client that commissioned it. In which case, you and/or anyone attempting to answer your question should feel equally free to creatively coin a cutesy marketing-speak term in English.

I don't really see the "genealogy" aspect of the concept, since it does not refer to other people in the company as "parents" or "children" but rather, to the same person in his/her different positions throughout his/her career.

I have to admit I find the idea to be pretty attractive.

This having been said, if you want to keep the "genealogy" concept, I would use GENEALOGY WALLET/PORTFOLIO.

However, if you want to respect what the concept actually represent, I would use something completely different such as "CAREER WALLET/PORTFOLIO" or "CAREER PATH WALLET/PORTFOLIO".

This probably grants an exchange with the client to find out what they prefer.

agree Charles Davis : Career path wallet is good. Genealogy/trees don't work here in English, in my opinion.

Career tree wallet

Hmm, I think this is going to be a tricky one to get into English satisfactorily.

Thinking out loud: Árbol genealógico: family tree. But this isn't a family. Career tree? And what about that wallet? This complicates things. Career tree wallet? Well I suppose it's a start for a bit more brainstorming.

agree Susana Magnani : I agree with you: no genealogy here...

Business tree wallet

Obviously a play on words with "arbol genealogico", and from the link you have provided, it is clearly a wallet which opens out to show the relationship between the businesses past and present very much like a family tree. This is the best I can come up with which includes all the ideas - I'm sure there must be better!
