@ Evgeni: symptoms and signs are different. Morbid is the most common word in use at this time and forms the root of other words like premorbid, morbidity, comorbidity, etc. are commonly used in medicine and psychiatry. Oleg is correct, but the term malady is outdated and has largely fallen out of use.
