Agree with C-A's typo interpretation...could use some visual aide here...could be "étrier" or perhaps "fourche" depending on the configuration...also found the potential use of rotten egg yolks as a deterrent pretty amusing...

Typo This must be a misspelling of "yoke" = etrier, empiècement, chape etc. (see Kudoz entries). Afraid I'm not a weapons specialist. Anyway, I don't think they have egg yolks on tanks (or maybe rotten ones to hurl at the enemy?)
