English term
customer sourcing
English to French
Bus/Financial
Business/Commerce (general)
Hi there,
I am trying to find the right way to translate "customer sourcing" into French in this sentence : "Review sales reports to identify customer sourcing" which is part of a Job Description form.
I found this explanation : Customer-Sourcing is a new paradigm that will enable companies to bring their customers into their decision making process.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I think there is a mismatch between your source text and the definition that you have found. There is indeed a trend in business to involve the client, either internal or external, in the sourcing/purchasing process, but in my opinion, this is clearly not what your source text is referring too.
The other type of "customer, or client sourcing" is a marketing activity, and consists in analysing how clients are acquired (see ref.1). That is I think what your souce text is about, and I would translate it as "source de clientèle" (see ref. 2).

The whole thing could be translated as:

: how are they going "to bring their customers into their decision making process" if the process is about finding these customers? These customers are yet to be found but they will nevertheless participate in the search for themselves?

I disagree with your interpretation! It means that the search for new clients has been elevated to the level of corporate decision making.

Implication Client

"Customer-Sourcing is a new paradigm that will enable companies to bring their customers into their decision making process."
Might be more productive?
