hernie discale à grand rayon de courbure

French to English Medical Medical (general)
This term appears in an MRI report of the lumbar spine: “L’anomalie principale se retrouve au niveau L4-L5, où il existe un bombement discal diffus modéré et une hernie discale à grand rayon de courbure associée se prolongeant inférieurement mesurant jusqu’à 17 mm en transverse x 5.5 mm en AP.” What exactly does «à grand rayon de courbure » mean here ? Thanks for your input.

Peer comment(s):

agree Michael Barnett : Agree provided you remove the parentheses around "radius". A large herniation can be different from a large radius herniation, which implies a somewhat flat bulge rather than a pointy bulge.
