Hello all,
I have to translate the term 'price multiplier', with the following definition:
"A price can be calculated by multiplying against another field. For example, the average cost could be used with a 1.10 multiplier to derive a price that is 10% over the average cost."
I'm considering the following three options:
1. Vermenigvuldigingsfactor prijs
2. Prijscoëfficiënt
3. Prijsmultiplicator
The first one seems to be the most prevalent, but due to its length, I find it a bit unsuitable, since I'm translating software and the term 'multiplier' is used in combination with other terms on screen as well, leading to even longer translations.
My question: are the shorter options (2 and 3) suitable for a sales context? Or are they only used in the domain of mathematics? Would sales and customer service personnel understand them right away (the definition is in the Help documentation, but I prefer instant usability, if you know what I mean)? And lastly, which of the 2 short ones is the best option?
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/feedback.

You are welcome.

(zie formule)
Het getal b wordt ook wel het vermenigvuldigtal genoemd.

Is de keuze dan niet snel gemaakt als dit je probleem is:
The first one seems to be the most prevalent, but due to its length, I find it a bit unsuitable, since I'm translating software and the term 'multiplier' is used in combination with other terms on screen as well, leading to even longer translations. ??
vermenigvuldiger = 16
vermenigvuldigingsfactor = 22
Is 'multiplicator' een optie?

I don't think 'coëfficiënt' is correct.
I am not sure about the connotations of 'multiplicator' (= 13).
De zin die je noemt heeft het alleen over 'multiplier'. In dat geval zou ik kiezen voor verrekenings(factor)/(getal) maar vermenigvuldigingsfactor kan ook.
