The Assessor must be an Authorized SWP Issuer for this permit and signs the SWP as the Issuer (or has another Authorized SWP Issuer as part of the assessment to sign as Issuer).
If the person to be assessed is already an Authorized SWP Issuer and the assessment is for recurrent performance assessment, then the authorized assessor is not required to be an authorized SWP Issuer.
Option 2:
A demonstration using a prepared scenario provided by the Assessor.
The Assessor can also function in the role of SWP Acceptor, though this is not an optimal choice.
The assessment should be performed in an actual job site/area.
A prepared scenario is defined as identifying specific equipment, task(s) to be performed, location of work, rationale for work, tools, chemical/material involved, etc. so that the person being assessed has enough information to write and issue the SWP.
This also enables the assessor to develop an "SWP answer key" that defines what the assessed person's *should look like*.
Option 3:
An assessment performed in front of one of the classroom simulators.
A demonstration using a prepared scenario (with answer key) provided by the Assessor.
The person being assessed will use the simulator attachments to simulate an on-site walk through.
