Comment traduiriez-vous cette phrase svp ? et surtout cette idée de "personally".
Voici le contexte : un homme doit se battre en justice contre son ex-femme (une méchante dans l'histoire) pour obtenir la garde de son fils. Elle accepte d'y renoncer à condition que l'homme lui donne 20000 livres, argent qu'il n'a pas. Mais un de ses amis, avocat et relativement aisé, se propose de l'aider en lui donnant cet argent. Il lui dit cette phrase, juste après lui avoir annoncé qu'il n'a absolument aucune chance de gagner son procès contre son ex-femme :"There is no way you will ever get custody of your son. Which is why I will personally give you the 20000 pounds required to buy this woman off."
Utiliser "personnellement" me paraît trop calqué sur l'anglais.

'personally', in this context, surely serves to stress that the money will be made available on the strength of their friendship, not as any sort of professional commitment. That might be especially important, for example, if the lawyer is a member of a partnership; it implies that he is not committing the partnership to provide funds. Another possible consideration is that, depending on the jurisdiction, it might actually be illegal (or at least, contrary to profesional ethics) for a lawyer to provide financial assistance to a client.

J'ai relu le contexte, et je réalise que c'est l'avocat qui parle. C'est donc l'avocat qui est indigné et pas le mari. Je crois que l'avocat se sent moralement touché par la situation et veut le souligner en payant de sa poche. Désolé.

If the author wants to underline the 2 mans friendship, than it is important to make it clear. It all depends on why that detail is there I think.
