Discussion

Chris Bruton (asker) Jan 27, 2016:
Well, if I did close without grading you can be sure it was because there was no acceptable answer, because I very much value everyone's time and help here. Anyway that is not the case with this one! Saludos

And at the end of this page:

I may be off base here, but could this be of any help to you?
Taña Dalglish Jan 26, 2016:
@ Chris Chris Bruton. I can only speak for myself, and regarding your remark "Sorry, but I don't believe I have closed a 'large' number of questions without awarding points.", I was not the person who made this remark. However, be that as it may, I can see why others may feel that way. While the number of questions you've asked are not that many given the no. of years you have been on ProZ, what the other person was referring to was the fact that you have closed 35 questions without grading (or some other reason), and this perhaps is a source of aggravation to some.

Sorry, but my notifications seem to be off so I did not see these until now. Yes it is a job title, on a Dominican apostille as I mentioned. There really is not much more context. The department is Procuraduria General de la Republica
philgoddard Jan 25, 2016:
Just to be clear, is this someone's job title, followed by their name, at the bottom of a document certification?
Helena Chavarria Jan 25, 2016:

When I saw what the 'centro de atención al ciudadano de Santo Domingo' is, I immediately thought of 'filter'.

Just some ideas.

Or, perhaps:

"Administrator of archives" (or similar), (since "depurar" might refer to a *purging* of records)
Peer comment(s):

agree Meridy Lippoldt : intake officer sounds exactly right to me.

Thank you, Meridy.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Yes I believe 'intake officer' will work in this context. Thanks much!"

Chris:

Observations:

1) IMO, there is inadequate context. It is near impossible to translate in isolation.

2) So what did you find then? I looked in the glossary (using both options) and saw nothing that would fit the bill. It would help too if you posted the link.

3) Like Robert, my first thought re "depurar" is to purge, but without a few sentences, it is literally impossible to establish a clear and conclusive answer.

4) Chris, you need to provide additional context with all your questions.
Regards.
Note from asker:
Sorry, but I don't believe I have closed a 'large' number of questions without awarding points. If I did so it was because there was no acceptable answer. I am always grateful for help by my colleagues.
Peer comments on this reference comment:

agree philgoddard : 5) You need to say thank you rather than closing large numbers of questions without awarding points.

Thank you. I take it that the yr. comment is for the Asker and not directed at me? (The asker may miss the point you are trying to make!) LOL!
