I wonder if someone can help me with the phrase at the end of this sentence. To begin with I'm not really sure what "remetimiento" means. I found "recess" in another kudoz question, but I can't be sure that's what this is, so if anyone has any other ideas about the word, please let me know. The other thing is I'm not sure how to parse the last part of the sentence correctly after "además".
Here's the context, it's a small figurine dug from a site in Nayarit, Mexico:
La cabeza es grande; el rostro muestra rasgos que se apartan de una fisonomía real y es factible denominarlos caricaturescos en el sentido de la exageración o simplificación extrema de las facciones; no obstante, a menos de que la obra se examine con detalle, las deformaciones faciales pasan desapercibidas; en definitiva lo que domina es el carácter introspectivo de la mujer.
De perfil la cabeza exhibe una pronunciada deformación tabular oblicua, la cual, junto con la tabular erecta, destaca en cráneos encontrados en las tumbas de tiro. El cabello se ve corto, como es usual en las piezas Lagunillas; en este caso fue pintado de color negro liso. La nariz es ancha en extremo, con lóbulos y orificios nasales muy grandes; en contraste, la boca es pequeña, apenas es una perforación lineal que traza una leve curva hacia arriba; además carece de mentón, aunque sólo cuando se ve de perfil, ***se advierte su pronunciado remetimiento.***

It may be more of a punctuation problem: the phrase seems to make better sense when the second comma is removed, giving 'solo cuando se ve de perfil se advierte su pronunciado remetimiento'
