Это для того, чтобы не ошибиться с выбором правильного номера счета получателя платежа.
почитайте, например, здесь, почему иногда этот режим создает неудобства и ошибки:
"Most persons will have some payees to whom they make payments for multiple, differing accounts; I have six with State Farm insurance for instance. Unfortunately, the MD "online payment" window only shows the payee names so that you can not tell which payment you are about to make until you reach the next window which shows the account. And then, to make matters worse, you have to switch to the separate "payee setup" function to see if the payee address is correct, a necessary step as many such payees have different receiving addresses for different payments."
