Spanish term
Retrocedente
Spanish to English
Bus/Financial
Insurance
Reinsurance
I am translating a series of insurance contracts and the current one deals with reinsurance.
The following line appears in the first line of the contract...
El Retrocesionario abonará a la Retrocedente la parte que le corresponde...
I know that "Retrocesionario" is equivalent to the term "Retrocessionaire" (the company that is reinsuring the insurer) which is used in English but I am unable to find an equivalent for "Retrocedente".
My feeling is that this is simply "Insurer" - can anyone confirm that or suggest otherwise?
Thank you!
