Southern Carolina Region The Southern Carolina Region of SC consists of 6 of the 46 counties in the state of South Carolina: Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Colleton, Hampton and Jasper. They are in the southern part of the state, specifically the southwestern part, though this region does not include Beaufort county, which is the furthest south of all SC counties (together with Jasper), nor Charleston, Dorchester or Berkeley, which are also in the southern part of the state but located to the east of this region.
