Québécois \"sacres\" (swear words) in a play
This is a line in a play that I am helping to translate. "Calisse" is a québécois swear word and is often translated (as are most québécois "sacres") as the F word, despite actually being a religious term (chalice).
I am just not sure how to word this in the translation - translating theater is new to me, and I am sort of experiencing a crash renewal course in Québécois. I would appreciate if anyone could help with this.
Context:
la mère – Voulez-vous arrêter ça ! Ma tête va exploser !
Joe, sortant les toasts du four. – Je fais ce que je peux, m’man !
Samuel – J’aime pas ça quand tu me traites de menteur.
la mère – Comment ça le grille-pain marche pus ?
Joe – T’es un menteur !
Samuel – Quoi ?
la mère – Mon beau grille-pain.
La mère bouche ses oreilles. Joe fait du vent avec une serviette sous le détecteur de fumée.
Joe – Y a rien qui change gros gay. Tu restes un menteur !
Samuel – Fuck you…
Joe – Un criss de menteur !

Sorry - both very offensive terms - but depending on how much the brotherly love shown here escalates, I think it would be within the register to use this phrase, and it retains the offensive "ableist" reference. It is UK English usage tho - very offensive in UK, less so in US I gather.

malade mental is often use In alternance with moron in Quebecois which comes form English, so the equivalency is easy here. for calisse there is no official nomenclature but damn works.

Damn you, stupid jerk
I certainly would not use the F word in a family exchange. And when Sam says F y in French, it should be translated by something less agressive as saying it in English in a French environment id not as offensive as it would be in an English one.
