Press release
Our parent company XYZ announced its plan to make ABCD a standalone stock. We will become an asset-backed stock, as opposed to our current structure where we are one of two “tracking stocks.”
So, I guess my questions are:
What exactly is a 'standalone stock'?
What is the term in French?
And if stock means 'actions', how do I handle the sentence where ABCD is a standalone stock?
Thank you for your help.

Note from asker:
Merci! Cependant je ne trouve pas 'action indépendante' dans mes recherches.. Et pour le phrasé: peut-on dire "Nous sommes une société (ou un groupe) à actions indépendantes (ou à actions reflet)"? |

Comment: "These were the terms I was looking for. However I think it would be fair to give Victor Santos some points too since he provided some explanations and sources. I don't know how to give points to 2 answerers...

action (d'une société cotée) à part entière / action-reflet
See OECD glossary (page 471, left hand top):
alphabet stock syn. target stock, targetted stock, tracking stock action ciblée ; action-reflet [FIN]
http://urlz.fr/54w9
"action traçante" is another widespread translation:
https://www.lesechos.fr/finance-marches/vernimmen/definition...
-------------------
standalone = autonomous, which echoes to "We will become an asset-backed stock" (CAUTION: "asset-backed" has nothing to do with securitization here. In this case, it means that the stock owners have a claim on the company assets).
See the definition of "tracking stock" according to Investopedia:
"A tracking stock is a common stock issued by a parent company that tracks the performance of a particular division without having claim on the assets of the division or the parent company. "
