This is by far the best choice. As Sven has noted, "off-road vehicle" encompasses a broader range than "terrängskoter". Anybody familiar with the devices in the U.S. and Canada will understand exactly what you're talking about. Not sure how many Brits have ever personally seen a snowmobile/snowmachine/snowscooter in their lives, however ...

"snowmobile/ATV" This sentence just came up "Terrängskoter är en underkategori fordon som består av snöskoter och terränghjuling.", so I am thinking that I will use "snowmobile/ATV" to translate "terrängskoter"
