Spanish term

Jefatura de prácticas técnicas instrumentales

Spanish to English Other Certificates, Diplomas, Licenses, CVs
Hi all,

I am translating an academic transcript of a pharmacy graduate, and I am struggling with the name of one of the free-elective subjects (materias de libre configuración):

JEFATURA DE PRÁCTICAS TÉCNICAS INSTRUMENTALES 08/0

I don't understand the use of "jefatura" here. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Asker Have you looked at the awarding institution's website? They may have a description of the courses and subjects in English

"Jefatura" seems to have the intended meaning of "management" here, but I can see where you would be confused, as the term typically refers to an "office" or "headquarters" of some governmental entity.

See the following proz.com query which seems to reflect this peculiar usage:

As a course title that would make sense in English, I don't think that a literal translation would work here. Hence my suggestion.
