English term

made eyes over

English to Spanish Marketing Food & Drink
Hola a todos:

Necesito que me ayuden con "made eyes over".

Sarit Packer and Itamar Srulovich, the Isarali wife and husband duo behind the eateries, met when they made eyes over antipasti in the Tel Aviv Italian restaurant where they both worked back in 2002.

Gracias.

sus miradas se cruzaron

The expression is "to make eyes at": flirt

In some Spanish countries they say "hacer ojitos" pero yo prefiero una expresión como la que propongo.
"Over antipasti" means while they were preparing/serving/eating antipasti. I would say "sus miradas se cruzaron mientras preparaban/saboreaban antipasti en el restaurante italiano donde ambos trabajaban.

¡Gracias Natalia!
agree Robert Forstag : I don't think the expression is very common any longer in the US, but this certainly is what it means.

Thanks Robert! The Spanish equivalent is old fashioned too :-)
agree Charles Davis : "Ma! he's making eyes at me" was a big hit in the 1920s. Your suggestion is good for this context.
