Chemical monitoring in a water-steam cycle
This sentence seems contradictory to me. First it says that the metals are unstable in their normal environment and then it says they tend to stabilise in the environment in which they are naturally found. Or at least that's how I understand it. What am I missing?

Example: Iron (which is refined) in a normal somewhat humid air atmosphere tends to revert to its more stable state, namely is oxidized via air oxygen to the more stable iron oxide as in iron ore.

: Yes , a normal environment, i.e., on Earth, where oxygen is present in some form or other. I don't think you need "which in particular is the state" though, just "they tend to revert to the more stable state in which they are found in nature".

Pero el bronce precisa de un proceso de trabajo para convertir el mineral que originalmente se encuentra en la naturaleza en el metal con el que se elaboran los objetos, esto hace que de forma inherente el propio material tienda a volver al estado mineral primigenio y que por tanto sea inestable en si mismo y proclive a los procesos de corrosión. Elementos como el agua, la luz o el aire favorecen mucho más esta corrosión del bronce, por lo que para su conservación precisa estar en un ambiente con humedad y temperatura controladas que ayuden a su preservación.
