English term

Covered person

English to Dutch Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general) Anti corruption policy
This policy addresses .... and other relevant laws and regulations of the United States and any foreign country where XXXX (company name) or Covered Persons conduct business, transactions, dealings or operations.

Covered Persons means all directors, officers and employees of XXX (company name) and its business divisions and affiliates.

It basically means the persons that are covered by the description of people who come under this policy. Would "Relevante personen" be a correct suggestion?

Discussion

Willemina Hagenauw (asker) Jul 31, 2017:
@ Writeaway The policy applies to them and thus they have to stick to it. Having done some more research over the weekend, I am veering towards leaving it untranslated and putting behind brackets (personen op wie dit beleid van toepassing is).
writeaway Jul 28, 2017:
so it really does sound like this policy is imposed on them (by law)?
people who must comply?
Willemina Hagenauw (asker) Jul 28, 2017:
@ everyone It is American.... But yes, it concerns the persons to whom this anti-corruption policy applies. The covered persons have to comply with the rules in the policy or else...!
Caroline de Hartogh BBA Jul 28, 2017:
No problem, writeaway No need to excuse yourself! Lets brainstorm again.
writeaway Jul 28, 2017:
other ideas (in English) fall under, are subject to
I must admit that covered in this context is a bit unusual
Caroline de Hartogh BBA Jul 28, 2017:
Other idea Personen voor wie dit geldt, zijn ... (or something like that)
writeaway Jul 28, 2017:
@Caroline I didn't pay enough attention to the context -so my first comment wasn't correct. Sorry.
Caroline de Hartogh BBA Jul 28, 2017:
Thanks for the explanation.
writeaway Jul 28, 2017:
@ Willemina, I see -sorry So this policy is imposed on these people.
Caroline de Hartogh BBA Jul 28, 2017:
writeaway, pls. explain. I do not understand "is what it means" Like Willemina says: covered can mean many things. But here we are talking about a policy, so that needs to be described.
Willemina Hagenauw (asker) Jul 28, 2017:
@ Writeaway This is correct when it concerns an insurance policy. And in that case the translation would be "Verzekerde" which I have come across, but this means an anti-corruption policy, where the covered persons are the persons who the policy indeed "covers" but in a different way. That's why I was thinking about "Relevante personen". But Caroline's proposal makes sense as well.
writeaway Jul 28, 2017:
persons covered under the policy is what it means

Personen voor wie dit geldt, zijn ... might be better here
