Spanish term

docente al frente de grado

Spanish to English Other Education / Pedagogy
Listed several times on the employment certifications of this teacher. From Argentina, specifically Buenos Aires.

Need to know whether this is just a wordy way of saying 'teacher'.

Input appreciated from those familiar with the Argentinean school system.

@ Asker: Sorry! Don't know how else to respond to the question you asked in my answer:
I did originally think of 'grade school teacher' but probably classroom teacher is best so it covers primary up to high school, right?
"frente al grado" would only be used in primary, not secondary. This is a very important distinction. That's why my first answer included "primary school". So you could have "primary school classroom teacher". This teacher is in charge of a particular grade for the academic year and teaches students all main subjects (language, maths and science). Hope this helps

primary school teacher

It refers to the teacher who is actually in the classroom as opposed to someone who has a leadership or management post.
I don't think there is another word for it in English.

PS: I'm from Argentina and have been a "docente frente al grado" myself.
