Sarcastic gesture
They greet eachother with a (sarcastic or ironic) gesture.
I wouldn't say it's a wave, remember they are Italians, they are likely to be gesticulating at the guy as he whizzes by. Without the images it's difficult to be sure which but I can just imagine the type of gesture which indicates a mixture of "wow look at you in your flash car and go for it" The ironic gesture is likely to have some meaning to the Italian target of the commercial.

Maybe not but both can be intended when Italians say ironico. The usage here is unclear unless we have the video.
