Thanks Marcus for your detailed comments. Unfortunately they do not make me much wiser - but that is not the first time in technical translations ;-).

upper/lower link coupling

This is just to add further clarification (and disagreeing with my colleagues). I've just actually translated a huge document for Mercedes regarding the manufacture of axle links/control arms. A "Lenker" is translated to either "link" or "control arm". Mercedes prefers "link". It seems that "link" is also preferred in Europe overall. The upper and lower links (arms) are mounted to the chassis and the knuckle. An upright bar connects the upper and lower link. There are two links (upper and lower) because this allows greater control of suspension movement.

The suspension travels dynamically (vertically, horizontally, push-pull action) to account for road/surface irregularities. The pushing-pulling action transfers to the pivot system.

By the way, "Anlenkung" is translated to "pivot" everywhere in Wyhlidahl. "Control arm" and "link" in this context mean the same so you can't place them together.

The same principle should apply to tractor ploughs, which is the context here.

The German company Lemken, for example, makes ploughs with "Unterlenkeranlenkung L 3 Z 3 - Oberlenkeranlenkung Kat 3" (probably the same maker in the asker's context).

I went to the company's website and saw this under the tech. specs of one tractor variant: "Unterlenkeranschluss Kat. 3N=L2 Z3 (wahlweise Kat. 3 oder 2)".

Category 3 Anschluss > another clue that this is a point of connection. Lemken translates this to "upper/lower link coupling".

Couldn't find reliable references for "upper link pivot" in tractor ploughs. This is most probably the same as Lemken's Oberlenkeranschluss (upper link coupling).

You will not find "upper link control arm" in any tractor plough on planet Earth except maybe on Proz.com (hi Alexander!)
