You have a sourcing input on PLC or sometimes called NPN input. The 24Vdc comes from bus. The PLC inputs already have optocouplers and anything for input protection.

I was assuming this explanation would fit the context of controlling a plant and I happen to know that a speicherprogrammierbare Steuerung is a key component in electrical engineering. But then, this is not even an educated guess, really.
Eingang often means input in this context. But your translation looks OK.
