English to Swedish Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering turnstiles

In the installaton manual for Heras turnstiles:

The control panel for the turnstile incorporates a PLC, a switch-mode power supply unit and a set of field termination connectors/terminals.

Could anyone please explain what "field termination connectors" are and what they are called in Swedish.
