: "Sentiment" in the marketing sense is simply a positive, negative or neutral attitude to a product. Not the same as emotional intensity.

The phrase you should be translating is "net sentiment score", i.e. "net" and "sentiment" are both adjectives qualifying the noun "score". So, it is the score that is "net", not the sentiment.
