KluID

Czech to English Medical Medical (general) lékařská zpráva - zkr
WinMedcalc-KluID: xxxxxxxx

xxxxxxxxx is a number. The question is what is this number, is it related to the patient and therefore needs to be redacted? Or is it related to the hospital?
I understand that WinMedcalc is a central information system for hospitals.

Originally, I just left it as I did not know what the number was, it was in a very small font at the end of the document. But the PM came back asking what it was and whether it should be redacted. These are documents for a clinical trial. The instructions for translators state to redact (among others) Medical record numbers/Bed/Room, Unknown numbers and codes....Hospitals are not always consistent in redacting so in this case it is up to the translation agency/translator to make sure all is redacted/blinded so that it can be entered into the clinical trial. Thank you for your help :).

I would not redact it IMO this is not personal info. Secondly, anyone with access to the hospital info system is bound by mandatory confidentiality. And thirdly, the translation you are preparing is not intended for anyone with possible access to the system, so why worry about it?

in answer to your question (and on this, I am not an expert on hospital systems, of course) I don't know what procedure it refers to, and personally, if they don't redact it, why, as translators, should you we? And yes, I am sure the hospital will know

...why should we, omit the you, please :)
Note from asker:
Thank you, Hannah. I gather that the number in itself does not contain the patient ID but a person who has access into the system can identify the patient from that number. Conclusion: it should be redacted in the hospital reports, I guess?
