- Scalability sizing means different things to different organizations.
Based on market research and based on our own internal data, we found out that the majority of our customers prefer a building block size that fits their budget needs, reduces the overall failure domain as well as allows them to easily scale as the utilization grows.
This lead us to developing a 7U chassis with eight slots and three we've done in fabrics to delivery on the performance of two socket platform, a four socket platform, it even stores scalability in the form of a storage sled.
HPE on the other hand, developed a 10U chassis with 12 slots.
In order for them to get to their photonics fabric, they have to lose a fabric to implement.
From a fabrics perspective, a fabric switching engine allows our customers to scale from 1-80 servers.
