Spanish term
...exija cuentas a quienes tengan obligación de rendirlas al exponente
Spanish to English
Law/Patents
Finance (general)
Power of attorney
Another part of the scope of the attorney. I can find plenty of examples of this in Spanish documents but not a good translation.
Here it is again:
'Para que exija cuentas a quienes tengan obligación de rendirlas al exponente'
I'm not quite sure who the 'exponente' refers to

request account statements from those who are required to provide them to party
.. granting the power of attorney.
Note from asker:
I thought the same as Robert regarding 'exponente' , but good to have a second vote for that being the case. |

: Yes, I think "exponente" must mean "poderdante" here. It's probably one of those errors that have ended becoming boilerplate, I could only find it in Bolivian POAs, and only in one instance in each.

'Para que exija cuentas a quienes tengan obligación de rendirlas al exponente, aprobarlas o improbarlas, pagar o recibir, según el caso, el saldo respectivo y otorgar el paz y salvo correspondiente.'
Does the fact that the attorney is issuing the 'paz y salvo' suggest that it does refer to debts paid to the attorney/grantor rather than account statements provided?
Thanks
Just regarding 'exija cuentas' there were several kudoz entries with this being translated as' hold accountable' and so I assumed it was referring to holding debtors accountable more monies owing, rathar than the requesting statements which patinba suggested.
How can I be (relatively) sure that this is the case?
