Hello everyone,
Context: The name of the form is LOG-NAVIGATION DATA SHEET. It can even be downloaded empty on pdf from google. In the one I have, the information for a ship´s journey is filled in. There are many terms here I cannot find in my dictionaries.
The term:
In one column, this is written.
"DEV"
Previously on the form there are columns for "gyro crs/brg", "true crs/brg" and "var" to name a few.
Considering these are all navigation readings, I believe "DEV" stands for DEVIATION.
I would assume a lot of this naval vocabulary, is standardized.
My try:
"DESV" (a short form of "DESVIACIÓN" that spanish readers will understand.or,
Just leave "DEV" as it is? (standard acronym)?
