German term

Übernahme einer Anforderung

German to English Law/Patents Law (general)
Hi guys,

Having a little trouble with this phrase, in particular the part "....Übernahme einer Anforderung von Firma B in den Standard...". See full sentence for context:

"Teil des dort vereinbarten Verfahrens war der Vorbehalt der Firma A, die Entwicklungsplanung / Roadmap jederzeit in eigenem Ermessen zu ändern (§ 2 Ziffer 2.1 Abs. 1, letzter Satz) und alleine über eine Übernahme einer Anforderung von Firma B in den Standard zu entscheiden (§ 2 Ziffer 2.1 Abs. 2 und Ziffer 2.2 Abs. 3, letzter Satz)."

Any help much appreciated.

Gavin

German term (edited): Übernahme einer Anforderung in den Standard
Selected

standard adoption of a requirement; incorporation of a spec/ification into the Standard

Perhaps Übernahme should linked to ... in den Standard - whatever the latter Denglish means.

Problematical is whether von Firma B means 'durch', so adoption by B & Co. or is a standard /demand of B & Co's.

Assumption - as in the KudoZ glossaries - is somewhat of a translatorese word that often doesn't read well.

As a native Viennese bilingual DE/EN school teacher once told me. 'we need to think about assuming your child into the German or English language class stream'.

agree TonyTK : "von" in this context is certainly "of". Both of your suggestions work. FWIW my personal preference would be "inclusion of a specification of B".

Thanks. My distant export past, again, kept on pointing me to a 'requisition' for Anforderung
agree A. & S. Witte : incorporation of a specification of B into the Standard

Danke schön and thx! Your (deleted) answer, to a question ending in 'den Standard' - might have arrived at a similar conclusion...
