: "Très souvent employé" is not a very convincing argument as it doesn't prove in any way that it fits for the specific ST [in any language ...] - you have statistics based MT for that kind of methods.

so "this head start" would be a time interval corresponding to how far in the future these FFA are to be executed.
for a time interval that is always the same "la constance" would be most appropriate - (whether it is or not "the most usual / frequent" translation ...)
Ps: Je n'ai pas mis de référence google par manque de temps mais un natif comprendra vite ce à quoi je fais référence.
Sur ce, le débat est clos.
Présumer que "la traduction la plus fréquente" est sûrement la meilleure ou pire encore que "un terme souvent employé dans ce genre de texte" est pour cette seule raison le bon terme, c'est sûrement "une méthode" ... pour quelque chose, mais certainement pas pas une méthode pour traduire correctement.
