Bij een 'spaced' test van brandwerende stof/kleding is er geen contact met de hittesensor maar wordt er een tussenruimte gelaten tussen het testmonster en de hittesensor om te meten in hoeverre de stof een barriëre kan vormen tussen de hittebron en de huid.
