Spanish term
luminarias dispuestas en líneas cruzadas

Health and safety - lighting
From a H&S guide, in the lighting section.
No es recomendable el uso de tubos fluorescentes sin apantallar, ni luminarias dispuestas en líneas cruzadas.
I can't imagine how this would be, or why it would be a bad thing. I've looked at a number of H&S guides in English but while reference is made to "unshielded fluorescent tubes" I can't see any refences to anything that sounds like this.
Any ideas?

lights mounted perpendicular
The lights must form an X, if they were parallel, they'd form an =.
Example sentence:
Although the fixtures can be mounted either parallel or perpendicular to the car bay, mounting them perpendicular provides the best lighting
Discussion
I used "criss-cross linear lighting arrangement"?, having found a reference to it, but you were the inspitation :o)
